Early for Xmas, Late for.. everything else!

Another horribly overdue post for this blog...! I guess I was reminded by the fact that I'm already busy making for Christmas craft fairs so, before I forget, here are the events we're going to be exhibiting at this year: 24th October - 23rd November:  Just Makers Christmas Crafts in the Bath House at RHS Harlow Carr. 18th - 19th November: York Christmas Fair at Skelton Garden Centre. 2nd December: Christmas Fair at Tithe Barn, Nether Poppleton, York. Our work also continues to be available at Just Makers in the Castle Courtyard at Ripley and at Pot Buoys Gallery on St Agnes, Isles of Scilly where our Christmas tree earrings will be a new addition this year. You can also purchase direct via www.etsy.com/shop/inspiredscilly or by messaging via Facebook at www.facebook.com/inspiredscilly .

Time flies!

Oops! I can't believe it's a year since I posted on this blog! I was just thinking about my holiday memories from this year's trip to Scilly and logged on to post a few pics only to find myself looking at those from last year... Still, it's great to be reminded of that holiday too! This year we were lucky enough to see the Red Arrows for the first time flying over the islands at the first Islands Regatta... Another first was seeing the new Pot Buoys Gallery (formerly the Bulb Shop) on St Agnes and getting to meet the lovely Emma who took over from Mandy Pearce. Emma has done an amazing job in revamping the shop into a gorgeous gallery and I'm very proud to have my jewellery there amongst so many talented artists and makers. Here are a few photos to give you a taste of the new gallery. So many gorgeous things to buy! My jewellery is hanging in the window in that lovely bauble! Emma is a very talented artist herself (you can buy her...

3 Weeks and Counting...

Just three weeks to go and I'll be in Scilly again. I can't wait! In the meantime, I'm keeping busy with an exhibition at RHS Harlow Carr which is right up my street... It's called 'Harlow By The Sea' and yes, you guessed it - it's dedicated to all things coastal. I'll be working there on Friday so will hopefully update the blog with some photos very soon! The exhibition is on until 2nd August so there is still plenty of time to pop along and see everyone's wonderful work. In the meantime, here's a few of the pieces that have been on display. Our wavy crochet bracelets with crystals and freshwater pearls lend a touch of elegance. Our starfish jewellery is simple, yet stunning! Mesh wire brooches take some time to make but are so worth it, especially in these beautiful seaside shades. This sparkling shell pendant caught someone's eye! I think the crab likes it too..!

Exhibitions at RHS Harlow Carr

The New Year got off to a busy start here with preparations being made for my first event of the year with Just Makers at RHS Gardens Harlow Carr in Harrogate. Spring really is a great time of year to visit the gardens when all the Spring bulbs are emerging and the timing couldn't be better with some fantastic exhibitions of work on show from some very talented makers, all very ably overseen by the brilliant Deborah de Brunner. Deborah has been working hard to furnish the Bath House ready for all our work and we're all agreed that it looks fantastic! The first event is now underway and you have until 22nd February to see it. It's entitled 'Let's Get Creative' and, as well as showcasing makers' work, there will a number of kits available for you to purchase and maybe have a go at some crafts yourself! For some photos of the type of thing you can expect, head over to  www.facebook.com/JustMakers . On 24th February, a new exhibition begins with ...
