Christmas Markets

We're going to be busy this season so here's a list of all the Christmas Craft Markets we will be attending this year:

Just Makers Christmas Craft Exhibition (7th-23rd November)

A two-week event housed in the beautiful Bath House at RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate. In honour of our garden-themed location, we will be bringing along our fabulous floral rings and some sparkly Christmas tree earrings. As the name suggests, this event plays host to a range of high quality, handmade items from local makers. Support handmade and grab some original gifts for Christmas.

Also, don't forget that RHS Harlow Carr are hosting a Free Day Friday on 7th November giving visitors the chance to get in to the gardens for FREE! More details here: http://bit.ly/1xSzV5I

York Christmas Fair (22nd-23rd November)

Another green-fingered venue, York Christmas Fair at Skelton Garden Centre on Shipton Road made its seasonal debut last year. With a cafe for refreshments (including delicious hog roasts!), a great atmosphere and a wide variety of stalls, it is bound to be even more popular this year! There is even a Santa's grotto for the little ones! www.yorkchristmasfair.com

Whixley Village Winter Craft Fair (30th November)

This pretty North Yorkshire village has now extended their popular Christmas craft fair to become a full day event. Come along and grab a stocking filler or two... Details at http://bit.ly/1nQ7Lrt

Tithe Barn Poppleton Christmas Fair (6th December)

Another fantastic venue, this fair allows visitors the chance to see inside the beautiful and historic Tithe Barn in Nether Poppleton near York. Open from 10am-4.30pm

Look forward to seeing you there!

Time flies!

Oops! I can't believe it's a year since I posted on this blog! I was just thinking about my holiday memories from this year's trip to Scilly and logged on to post a few pics only to find myself looking at those from last year... Still, it's great to be reminded of that holiday too! This year we were lucky enough to see the Red Arrows for the first time flying over the islands at the first Islands Regatta... Another first was seeing the new Pot Buoys Gallery (formerly the Bulb Shop) on St Agnes and getting to meet the lovely Emma who took over from Mandy Pearce. Emma has done an amazing job in revamping the shop into a gorgeous gallery and I'm very proud to have my jewellery there amongst so many talented artists and makers. Here are a few photos to give you a taste of the new gallery. So many gorgeous things to buy! My jewellery is hanging in the window in that lovely bauble! Emma is a very talented artist herself (you can buy her...

The Alien has Landed!

It's not quite finished but here is my completely crazy felt creation (from a previous post entitled 'Is that an alien on your head'.. in hat form. I need some nice matching felt to go on the underside to finish it off but I'm quite pleased so far. Now to find someone who would wear it! That could be trickier!! My favourite bit has to be the 'dreads' (an unusual alternative to feathers I think you'll agree) and beads - I guess it all looks a bit like seaweed in the water. It's hard to make out from the pic but there are some lovely coral and blue sparkly threads in the middle. (materials courtesy of my Mum with blue sewing thread from www.alteredelement.co.uk )

Scilly Crafts

We thought it was time we showed you a few of our favourite arty things. The first is this great new blog of handmade Scillonian work, some of which is available to purchase from the artists' websites. Check out http://www.phoenixcrafts.co.uk/blog.html and be dazzled by sparkling stained glass, stunning seascapes and perfect prints.
